Hmmm, started working today. Well, i was physically there.
At least the traffic was not as noisy as i am used to now. There were of course no cows, rickshaws, pedestrians or by-cicles on the road to honk at. Last holiday they lowered the maximum speed to 30km in Steenderen. This time they decided to introduce a point-system with your drivers-license. What will it be next time; driving on the wrong side of the road ?
The pictures are developed, so just hold your breath and I will add them soon to the blogging. Saw that i bought my camera in Germany July 2000 for DEM 1.200. So the insurance will probably say: it is not worth anything anymore.
Also found a nice blue envelope. For the un-dutch-ables: I have to fill in my tax-forms, so the IRS can get some money from me or I might get some money back

Today i did some souvenir shopping. You can not leave Bangladesh without getting some real rickshaw art. So i bought myself two pieces; one as a souvenir and one as a price in the quiz i am running.
Walking around town i ran into a shop which rents video CD's / DVD. I talked them into selling two. For Tk 150 i bought myself the bollywood movie i saw in Delhi : Khakee, 3 CD's and a real bangladeshi action movie. Again one for myself and one as a price for the quiz. Of course i will make a copy for myself. I will only need a DVD-player ...
Tomorrow will be doing some repacking off my backpack and put the important stuff in my daypack. The backpack might get lost in the travelling proces. The plane will be leaving in the afternoon, but you have to bear in mind that getting to the airport might take some time with this kind of traffic and the traffic jam's.
Bangladesh, go there before the tourists do! In the proces, do not forget your earplugs if you do not want a wake-up call every morning around 5 AM by somebody calling the muslims to prayer
Although my ticket mentioned 09:50 AM, i also saw tickets with 12:00 AM and 1:00 PM. It finally arrived at 1:15 PM. Since we were late already we got side-tracked several times, arriving in Dhaka about 7:30 PM. Took a taxi to Hotel Al Razzaque in Old Dhaka, dumped my stuff in the room and got to diner in the hotel. No menu, but some waiters know enlish. Had a nice chicken and fish curry.
